'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane cools on Premier League homecoming

Kane achieves his hundredth goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has revealed that his interest in coming back to the Premier League has faded and he is prepared to negotiate a new agreement with Bayern Munich.

The star striker is currently halfway through the four-year deal he signed when transferring to from Tottenham Hotspur for £86.4m in the transfer window of 2023.

The 32-year-old forward has accumulated an impressive 103 goals in 106 games for the German team, contributing them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga crown - which was the first significant honor of his illustrious career.

Tottenham coach Thomas Frank has recently stated that he would be pleased to see Kane go back to England, where he requires 48 goals to break Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League scoring record of 260.

However, the England captain has now clarified that he is no longer as keen about coming back home as he earlier was, and would certainly consider extending his stay in Bavaria.

"In terms of extending longer, I could definitely see that," he commented.

"I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to occur I would be open to talk and have an frank conversation.

"Obviously it hinges on how the next year or so unfolds and what we accomplish together. Right now, I would say we are in a excellent moment and I am not focusing about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had questioned me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would perhaps say that has diminished a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have realized in my career is that different chances and different moments happen and things align. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."

Record-breaking Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the historic top goalscorer for both Tottenham and England and not long ago became the speediest player this century to achieve 100 goals for a club participating in one of Europe's top five leagues, attaining the achievement in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a title had avoided him until he secured the German title last season.

Kane reveals that he was not sure how he would feel after breaking his trophy barren spell, but now feels it has made him hungry for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be natural to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he continued.

"But it's given me more motivation to do more and be better. I think I've shown that this year.

"I was curious in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to attain in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I driven myself the other way in terms of being even better, eating even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Looking Ahead

  • Ongoing success with Bayern Munich remains Kane's primary focus
  • The possibility of a Premier League return has significantly decreased
