Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and had been in contact with the NFL.
The organization did not mention the player by name in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the team drafted in the second round.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals injured. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, he concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
