The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
A representative for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the move was made after an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions towards women.
The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
From Screen to Page
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
